Mary Modreske

My name is Mary Modreske

Some of you may know me and some may know me as the house on the hill with two flags.

One you all know and love and the other one is the Polish flag. My husband of 58 married yeas was Polish, I lost him 5 years ago to cancer.

I have one married daughter; she is the office manager of the dealership my husband owned for 38 years. He sold the dealership just before he passed away. Our daughter is still the office manager for the new owners. Her husband, my son-in-law, is the lead Sales Manager for a Lawn & Garden company.

I have two married grandchildren. My granddaughter is a Certified Veterinary Technician while my grandson is a UPS delivery driver. They have blessed me with 7 great grandchildren.

My husband and I came to Dubois in the late 1970’s looking for dear family friends. We loved it here so much we decided to purchase property. In 1986 we bought Lot 77 here in Upper Little Warm Springs. In 2004 we built our dream retirement home in a family-oriented community. Neighbors knew and helped each other. That does not always seem to be the case lately, sometimes it seems like people are out for themselves.

I put my name in as a candidate for a seat on the board for a few reasons.

  • There is always a need for a women's point of view

  • There are too many unnessary changes being made without landowners' opinions being considered or consulted

  • Common Sense needs to be a top priority in all decisions being made on the landowners' behalf

  • Family and Community should be a top priority with all landowners being considered not just a few select

I’m not a politician, but I know right from wrong, and it seems that a lot of wrong is happening as of late.

Thank you for considering my application for a Board position!
