Our neighborhood has always been horse friendly, but not all drivers comply with the legal speed limit on our roads. In an effort to at least raise awareness that horses or folks walking their dogs may be on the road, A new "SLOW DOWN: Horses & Walkers Ahead" sign has been added to the main neighborhood sign, along with an actual speed limit sign (30mph). Many of us have been aggravated by ORVs going well above the speed limit or failing to yield to horses. Since the speed limit in subdivisions was changed state-wide only in the past decade, many folks simply don't know what the speed limit really is--but now they will. The Board authorized the new signage at its February 10, 2021 meeting and it was installed the next day. Signs donated by Eriks Goodwin, with no cost to the community.
NOTE: It is planned to relocate the black-on-yellow 25mph sign to a new sign post before the Soda Springs Drive goes into the S-curve prior to the intersection with Hart Trail-- BUT, we will be looking into WYDOT and other standards to see if that S-curve should be a lower recommended speed than 25mph before we do.
