New Signs for Our Horse Friendly Community

Our neighborhood has always been horse friendly, but not all drivers comply with the legal speed limit on our roads.  In an effort to at least raise awareness that horses or folks walking their dogs may be on the road, A new "SLOW DOWN: Horses & Walkers Ahead" sign has been added to the main neighborhood sign, along with an actual speed limit sign (30mph).  Many of us have been aggravated by ORVs going well above the speed limit or failing to yield to horses.  Since the speed limit in subdivisions was changed state-wide only in the past decade, many folks simply don't know what the spee

Owner Forum on Bylaws and Covenants Reform

Save the date!  March 5, 2022.  An informal workgroup/forum event is open to all owners of land in the Upper Little Warm Spring Creek subdivision. The purpose is to work together to review the current Covenants (written in 1974) and the current Bylaws (written in 2020) to see where the owners agree changes should be made--so as to better aid the Board as it moves forward on behalf of the owners this term. The desired outcome is to drive interest and engagement of the owners in the process of improving our neighborhood. The event will be moderated by Eriks Goodwin.

Investment Proposal: Request for Owner/Member Feedback & Comment

Our Treasurer secured a proposal from Morgan Stanley for restructuring how the Association handles its investments and funds.  In the Board meeting on February 10, 2022, the Board agreed that Owner/Member input could be very valuable as the Board considers the proposal--and therefore the Board of Directors formally requests Owner/Member feedback, but no later than February 25, 2022.  Please direct questions to Pete Tattersall, our Treasurer at [ treasurer at ulwsa dot org ].  General feedback, thoughts and advice can be addressed to the entire Board at [ board at ulwsa dot org ].

New Horse Gate Installed at Upper Entrance

Thanks to the efforts and donated labor of Mark Hinschberger and Gail Rae, there is now a horse gate in the fence at the upper entrance to the Forest Service roads which allows horses to bypass the cattle guard in the road itself.  For quite a while, it has been necessary to trailer horses past the cattle guard in order to ride horses on the roads and trails beyond.  The new gate works by simply moving the rails out of the way to allow the horse to pass, then the rails are slid back in place to close the gate. Signs for the gate provided at no cost to the Association by Nolan Hicks, the Ran

New Object Marker Signs Installed on Hart Trail

Object marker signs have been installed the edges of Hart Trail where it crosses the Grey Wolf Reservoir overflow channel culvert by the ULWSA to help make sure no one drives into the channel by accident.  Since the work by Range contractors and the resulting re-grading of the road shoulders, the channel has become more difficult to see, especially while filled with snow.  Signs donated by Eriks Goodwin, posts donated by Mark Hinschberger, no cost to the Association.

New Year's Eve Pot Luck Dinner (12/31/21)

Neighbors gathered at the Goodwin Homestead on New Year's Eve for a neighborhood pot luck dinner prior to folks heading to their midnight plans.  Quite a few new faces at this event and a great time was had by all.  From appetizers to chili to sloppy joes to desserts--yum!  It's always great to meet more neighbors and get to know each other.  For those who could not make it, they were missed.  A big thanks to the Social Committee for putting together another successful neighborhood event!

Happy New Year!

Christmas Dice Game, Dessert, and Christmas Cookie Exchange (12/18/21)

About two dozen of our neighbors and visiting relatives gathered at the Neuerburg cabin for fun, fellowship, cookies, and games.  The festive bunch seem to love scented candles-- since that was the most often "stolen" gift during the Christmas Dice Game.  Isn't it wonderful to celebrate the season with joy?  A huge thank you to Matt & Lynne for hosting the event!

Christmas Caroling Caravan (12/17/21)

Social Committee Chair, Lynne Neuerburg, led an intrepid group of those willing to brave the cold to spread a little Christmas cheer for the Christmas Caroling Caravan on 12/17/21.  The group of seven started out down at the Dixie Ranch gates and visited quite a few of the homes in our community and sang carols for our neighbors as they worked towards the Jones home where hot cocoa and libations awaited.  A fun time was had by all and additional thanks to Randi Becker for inviting the carolers in for unexpected cookies!
