New Horse Gate Installed at Upper Entrance
Thanks to the efforts and donated labor of Mark Hinschberger and Gail Rae, there is now a horse gate in the fence at the upper entrance to the Forest Service roads which allows horses to bypass the cattle guard in the road itself. For quite a while, it has been necessary to trailer horses past the cattle guard in order to ride horses on the roads and trails beyond. The new gate works by simply moving the rails out of the way to allow the horse to pass, then the rails are slid back in place to close the gate.
